It’s the ONE STRIP we’ve all been waiting for since she showed us the sneak preview on Patreon, folks!!! ღƪ(ˆ◡ˆ)ʃ♡ƪ(ˆ◡ˆ)ʃ♪ That poster is what I want for Christmas! ❤️
Surprise!!! I wrote ahead last month and ALL OF THE OCTOBER SUNDAYS will be an ongoing part of the Halloween special!! I needed the space for more cinematic artwork! This month every single day counts toward the storyline!
Will the adults who were asleep when the signal started stay asleep and the ones who were awake stay awake but in a mind controlled trance? Pucky needs his 16 hours of sleep!
Looks like them steenky aliens is trying to beams up the house and abducts the whole building itself. If only there a giant mirror to reflects theirs steeky beams back to them.
What we needs is a giant lasso to pulls down that steenky UFO from outer space. Then once it down, gets inside and confiscating the illudium Q-36 explosive space modulator before it too late.
Ahhhh, Lupin can’t hear the signal. The duo of Ora Z and Lupin on the case is a little scary. Hope Beatrix can rein them in. Although chaos may be what’s needed.
Orazuzu’s cool takes the cake. My new life goal: Greet all challenges (up to and including a giant Roomba over my house) with, “The what you say?” followed by, “Yup, that’s probably it.”
The UFO looks kinda like a plus-sized version of their roomba. Which, now that I think about it, would explain the apparent emphasis on cleaning their green light seems to be causing…
Mary Andrews: From what I’ve read, the best thing to do when the Portentous Wind blows is to Keep Calm and Prepare. Even if you are unsure what it is you need to prepare for.
Beaver Lee Cleary: It’s always good to have plenty of food on paw, make sure you have shelter, and plenty of activities to help you keep calm.
Beatrixia: I think I’ll study the history scrolls for more info. And if they are entertaining, so much the better.
Violet-Ifa: We will make sure the supplies of cheese are adequate. But we won’t tell how!
Mary: I can also give some ideas on preparation. Look out for UFO sightings.
Bev: UFOs?
Mary: Uniquely Funny Objects.
Bea: We should avoid them?
Mary: Quite the contrary. You should seek them out. In every job that must be done there is an element of fun. You find the fun and snap the job’s a game.
Tash: That sounds familiar somehow.
Bev: I suggest we all adjourn to the Café for tea and scones.
Mary: Capital idea! I like my tea with a spoonful of sugar.
I’m just trying to picture what kind of creatures are piloting the Mothership and … yeah … Is it making everyone vacuum because the ship needs dust/fur for fuel?
I couldn’t sleep last night, so got up around 1am and decided to cheer up with some BCN. I was expecting to see a “usual” stand alone Sunday strip (nothing wrong with that…Georgia’s “usual” is spectacular") and saw this, and I was thrilled to pieces!! This strip is just perfect! The arrangement of the panels, framing that glorious centerpiece, the unperturbed tone of voice of Beatrix and Ora Zella and the depiction of their phone connection, OZ’s little toe beans pressed against the glass as she looks out the window (squeeeeeeeeeee!!!), and the joyous appearance of Lupin and confirmation of his immunity and the happy expressions. It just made me so HAPPY!
Ooohhh, how could we all have missed Ora Zella’s TOEBEANS in the window? =SQUEEEEEEEEEE!!!= Credit (or blame if you prefer) @tewiv for pointing it out.
Folks, a slightly different question here. Has a pdf for the paper dolls at the end of good as Goldie been posted? I checked the Andrews McMeel BCN activity page, but don’t see it there. Thanks . . .
The intriguing point about Bea’s hypothesis is that kids have better hearing than adults. Human hearing peaks around 10-12 yrs, so technically ALL adults have hearing loss. And you’d expect all the cats to hear better than the adults. I was going to suggest maybe it is something they CAN hear that is protecting them, but then Lupin lept in and knocked that theory off the shelf!

Aw YEAAAAAAAAAH, big Sunday splash panel reveal! GORGEOUS!
Gosh, I don’t know any other comic that does stuff like this, or even close to this pretty. Georgia, you’d make Bill Watterson proud.
And here’s Lupin! Lupin may be a toddler confirmed! Double YEAAAAAAAAAAH!

Only children, kittens and Lupin, of course! And the ghosts, I’m sure!

OK, Anyone NOT surprised that Lupin has not been affected? More proof that you don’t have to grow up.

Is Lupin’s immunity to the alien mind-control because h is deaf, or is it because he is a toddler/child at heart?

It only comes out at night
The mean not grungy type
Something new
Never been here before
Watching and waiting
Ooh, what’s it gonna do
Getting earthlings to do chores
But much thanks to smol Bea
She looked up and could plainly see
The thing is wild
It’s up to a kitten or child to be a star
And fix the matter
With help from Cat above
It ain’t gonna get too far
Oh boy, here he comes
Watch out, noise, ‘cause Lupin’s up
Oh joy, here he comes ❤️
He’s no mad sweeper
