Years ago my wife and I attended a “dinner and a show” at a local dinner theater. The show was “Grease” and the performers were also our wait staff. It was fabulous! Unfortunately there don’t seem to be any dinner theaters in our area any longer. Just another thing we miss from the “good old days”. :-(

OT:Winter is here.

Time moves slower in the comics. By showing the kittens, then referring to The Archives, I think that signals a flash forward for today’s strip. But I also think that the comic’s Forward aligns with Georgia’s Now.

Has the Boy grown his hair to shoulder length? Could this be a Locks of Love donation in progress?

This is the strip Georgia mentioned in her ghost talk in Snoqualmie! It is a glimpse into the future. She said Ora Zella was not going to become a reporter And yes, the Boy has long hair. He is incredibly handsome, maybe even beautiful.

I can do without the singing, but the tap-dancing parakeets should be worth watching. Are they supposed to be budgies?

Puck looks so distinguished with his white stache. Even Elvis’ face is showing signs of lightening up, too. I love how the boys have aged in this strip. Very handsome! Iggy and Bea are so professional and Ora Zella … well, I’m definitely sensing a Miss Piggy vibe from her as she vamps around in that very stylish dress.

I don’t know if I’m soft-hearted or soft-headed, but I’m sitting here with tears in my eyes at the sight of my beloved Pucky Bear as an old man.

They’re all grown up! I don’t want them grown up, getting old, and leaving.

Love this! A great way to provide a strip more true to current life without actually aging the characters.

Ok I figured it out before resorting to comments. This is the future. The news crew is older, the kittens are cats, and the Boy and the Girl are grown up. The Boy looks just like his dad the Man, with long hair and a familiar plaid shirt.

The expression on Elvis’ face in that last panel is hilarious. I think he’s unimpressed with his tiny spoonful!

If there’s sand in the cage floor parakeets can tap dance pretty well. My first pet was a parakeet named Willie. He liked to interact with humans.

Oh, almost forgot pudding. My mom drafted me as a sous chef. She made pudding from scratch. One of my tasks was stirring pudding while it thickened.

That flash-forward had me confused for a second, what with the boy and his lovely locks.

It was probably said at the time but I don’t have time to go looking for it. Georgia did the Jumble one day last week. I’m a few days behind looking at newspapers that run it.

The kids are growing up

He’s a very ‘Dungeons and Dragons’ and medieval-and-celtic-warrior history kinda kid and I sense long hair is about to be part of his future teen years… again very much like his Dad!) I thought it might be fun to see their resemblance to each other in the comic over the years. In real life, the Boy is the spitting image of the Man, with my family’s chestnut colored hair and my Opa’s eyes. (My eyes—that eye gene is very strong!) If it ever does happen, perhaps the Boy will allow a flash-forward strip for when he loses his tail. I feel like that will be many years into the future though, he loves his hair!”

Here I am!! As Le’letha said—Tuesday we were hit by what the National Weather Service called a ‘bomb cyclone’ which had very strong (up to 80mph) winds. Knocked power out for around a half-million people in the Puget Sound area. We got our power back at 4-ish Saturday afternoon, ‘net back around 7-ish. So I and mine are all okay, the house is once again warm and well-lit, and I don’t need to be fully dressed when I go to bed. There’s still some thousands of folks without power.
