Darrin Bell (2019 Pulitzer) is in Sacramento jail for possessing child videos. His editorial cartoons, Rudy Park, and Candorville are gone from this site. Hopefully they can treat his Trump Derangement Syndrome.
IMO, it is a gross insult to the memory of a great man and leader that it is also the inauguration day of a rodent who is the anathema of everything Dr. King believed in!
Too many Americans have an insane belief in superheroes. Maybe itâs a problem with the English language? Biased in a weird way to the negative? We all know what crime is, so itâs easy to imagine someone who does enough crime becomes a criminal, then a supercriminal, and finally a supervillain. So there must be a superhero to balance it out?
Why? Whatâs the opposite of âcrimeâ? No easy word for the opposite concept. Itâs easy to think of examples of supervillains who have killed lots of people. Some of them lived to ripe old ages, too. But superheroes? Not so much⊠Notwithstanding the pictures of the orange buffoon in cape and spandex.
Well it could have been Rapist, Racist, Insurrectionist, Fraudster, Demented, Pathological Liar of the Year. (Your ordering may vary and sorry if I missed any.)
Reagan began the era of de-regulation and tax cuts, and carried the banner leading the counter-attack against the New Deal (and the Middle Class). After his mega-parties tomorrow, trump will mop up, cutting funding, eliminating the last safety nets we have. No more checks and balances in this country for the next four years (or more!). One-party rule will entrench themselves for a long time.
Iâm surprised that Trudeau didnât pick a bigger problem that poor olâ Donny is facing. Since he is now a convicted and sentenced felon he can no longer hold a liquor license in NJ. Hopefully the laws in NJ are written such that the holder of a liquor license cannot associate with a convicted felon. I wonder what FLâs liquor license laws say?
Trudeau was actually funny in the 70s⊠All politicians, no matter their party affiliation, got âthe treatment: Nixon, Ford, Carter were all skewered⊠But then Trudeau caught RDS⊠He lost all sense of reality⊠The man who could mock Reagan, never thought to bring back a modified version with âIn Search of Bidenâs Brainâ? The Trudeau of the early 70s would have jumped at the chance. But now? Heâs become a woke fascist-progressive.
I donât recall it being too cold for Carter and Obama who took the oath in single degree temps and then I remember that Jimmy and Rosalyn walked the boulevard that day.
Who would have thought that tough guys like demented Fat Orange Clowns (the FOCers) are such sensitive wusses? Maybe the cold makes the bone spurs excruciating painful.
We can always hope that the orange piece of trash will fall prey to the one thing he cannot buy more of: time. And please make that time very, very short.
January 20th, Ohio State plays Notre Dame for the NCAA Football championship. The nation will be watching. So donât kid yourself. Nobody wants to watch a boring inauguration ceremony, and nobody celebrates MLK Day.
Itâs not being called a âpersonâ that makes you look weak, Chump. Itâs your arrogance, elitism, and your need to kick down that does. Strong men pay their bills on time when they can afford it.
I note that the newspaper I get that carries Doonesbury did not carry this strip, instead they reran last weeks Zipper/Zonker strip where Zipper tries to be an old style Hippie like his uncle Zonker
I donât like Donald Trump at allâŠBut this type of âcomicâ really is an ugly use of the satire mediumâŠand it comes from a very dark view of the world similar to the place that it attempts to attribute to Trump. Worse, I think it promotes the type of tribalism that more moderate Americans are trying to move away from. If you want to make America a better place, you need to start with a better discussion.
A man would have accepted the fact that he lost the 2020 election instead of whining about it for four years. He doesnât throw tantrums like a toddler who didnât get the new toy he wanted.
A man doesnât call everyone names like a playground bully would do.
A man doesnât spread conspiracy theories and hatred just to get his own way.
I see that after several weeks of decompressing poor G. Turdeau is back to bashing Trump, his favorite cash cow. Keep âem coming Garry, another four years of easy money for you! Refill that tumbler of leftist tears, you are running low!
I heard a suggestion that, even if you are going to work tomorrow, turn on your TV to a channel that wonât be showing the inauguration, for viwership statistics purposes.
Wow, vital stuff Gary. When you and your fellow cult members talk about Tyrants, remember how Biden just illegally tried to âaffirmâ an Amendment into the Constitution. I think a coiple of 23 year old staffers were having a last minute contest to see who could get him to say the stupidest thing before he leaves. Yeah, but nothing to see here. Orange Man Bad and all that. Biden trying to add a 28th Amendment by shouting? If it wasnât so pathetic Iâd say let Carl Bernstein out of his shoe box to pronounce this, âWorse than Watergate.â
I have dream ⊠of a monument to 21st Century GOPers, to which every American can contributeâŠa mountain of trash and filth, and theyâd be under it
Too many other things happening tomorrow besides the crowning of the new king (in his own mind anyway) ⊠MLK Day, my grandsonâs birthday and the college national championship football game. Inauguration? So what!!!
âŠas for the people who put this person in office, again⊠âIâm not saying letâs kill all the stupid people, Iâm just saying letâs remove all the warning labels and let the problem sort itself out.â
I got it. Really, I do. Garry Trudeau hates Donald Trump. Iâve read him for years and knew he is on the left side of the political spectrum. Nevertheless, he was a mainstay because his humor was subtle and insightful whether I agreed with him or not. Somehow his hatred for Trump has moved Mr. Trudeau to pull out all restraints and resort to crude, childish mockery. Donât know the man but I wonder if he is just getting old and bitter.
It is puzzling to me, of all the Dems on this site, no one seems to have any concern whatsoever about the trillions of dollars of national debt this country has.
Says Trff, the genocidal madman who slaughtered millions of his own people yet is still somehow presented as âthe voice of reasonâ compared to Trump. I rarely mention how that kind of bugs me but it does in fact kind of bug me. Admittedly, I would be unsurprised to learn that Trump harbors dreams of slaughtering millions of people in the USA and/or all over the world but itâs not as though heâs made any significant effort in that direction yet. I know, I know, itâs just a comic strip, I should really just relax, I know. :-|
Trudeau runs a Trump strip every six weeks or so. How does that constitute âTDSâ? Seriously, this is a question that I would like someone to answer. Thank you.
I wonder how âright-wing comic stripsâ have treated President Biden for the past four years. I donât care enough to actually read such strips to find out, though, so I guess Iâll never know.
âPersonâ is technically probably accurate. Similar to a person. Soon to be our GREAT LEADER. Leading us in one of his planned invasions. Canada and Greenland are too cold right now. Panama will probably be our GREAT LEADERâs first attack.
Near the beginning of the comments on this cartoon, I predicted that the magat comments would nearly ALL be criticisms of the cartoonist and that there would be NO substantive comments from them about the point of the cartoon.

TikTok turned off its service just before midnight last night. They were not required to do this by the law that took effect, which only prohibited Apple, Google, etc., from offering the app for download. People who had the app were still permitted to use it, and TikTok was still permitted to operate. IMO the shutdown was the Chinese government playing âchicken,â seeing how âTarif [sic] Manâ would respond.
We know who blinked first. We know who turned out to be chicken. More important, Chairman Xi knows whoâs the chicken. The self-proclaimed âKing of the Dealâ folded, just as he folded in negotiations with the guy who wrote âArt of the Dealâ for him (if you donât know the story, look it up). Anybody expecting Trump to pursue a âget toughâ policy with China is going to be seriously disappointed.
Trump just faced his first test in foreign affairs, and flunked it. Not bad for a guy who hasnât even officially taken office.
I think itâs hysterical that he has to share his day with the awesome Rev. Dr. King AND Jimmy Carter, whose death is honored with the flag at half staff. Heâs so mad heâs tinkling.
Seminudes of Don Donald. Right out where everybody can see them. Trudeau is a monster. I may never eat a cheeseburger again without flashbacks to this comic.

The GOP is a party of hypocrites!! In 1980, they had Ronald W. Reagan, (who divorced his first wife Jane Wyman and then married Nancy Davis) to run against President Carter. And then when President Bill Clinton had his fiasco with Monica Lewinsky, claimed âFamily Values, Christian Valuesâ during the 1996 mid-term election. And then in 2004, Carl Rove, knew that his boss [Dubya] would get a second term, on his record, so he sent his Cronies to Black Churches in the South to give Black Pastors money, to preach that âDubya is a Christianâ, to give Dubya a second term. Now, here we go again with âChumpâ!!

Loathing
Unadulterated loathing
For your face
Your voice

Every little trait, however small
Makes my very flesh begin to crawl

Thereâs a strange exhilaration

Though I do admit it came on fast
Still I do believe that it can last
And I will be loathing
Loathing you
My whole life long!
Dear fellow citizens, heâs just no good
How will we stand it? I donât think I could!
Heâs a felon! Heâs a liar!
I donât mean to show a bias
