Thank you Mr. Trudeau! I watched HBO’s documentary “Stop the Steal”, & I believe Donald Trump is criminally disturbed. After watching what State Republicans had to endure for telling the truth 4 years ago, I will never understand how their own Party nominated him to be the Republican candidate in 2024. Donald Trump needs to be held accountable for his actions before a jury of his peers, & end this insanity. Shame on Michael Johnson & Mitchell McConnell for allowing the United States to be torn apart by another Roy Cohn’s creation. Donald Trump has ruined more lives than Senator Joseph McCarthy could imagine.

There is no debate about it. To a Canadian, reading through the comments on GoComics, it would seem that comic readers are largely Dems. With comments disabled on Editorial Cartoons, the Repubs don’t show up much.

Gary Trudeau doesn’t like Trump. Ok, I get that. But if we’re being honest here, his last several Sunday dailies have just basically been anti-Trump propaganda, and not particularly funny. Be honest, did anyone get a belly laugh from the “punch line” of today’s comic? I doubt it.

Frankly, I’d prefer for Trudeau to cut down on running Sunday strips on Trump myself— more often than not, I find them depressing because I despise Trump with several (albeit not every) fibers of my being — but, alas, no one asked me and no one’s going to ask me, certainly not Trudeau.

Anyone who wants to see Trump NOT made fun of is politely encouraged to stop visiting this strip — if you read something that you know will offend you, guess what, you’re going to get offended — and instead visit virtually any “right-wing” comic strip. The only one I know of right off is Bruce Tinsley’s “Mallard Fillmore” but there are bound to be others.Back in the nineties, I used to regular read “Fillmore” kind of by necessity because, years ago, the newspaper I read would only print daily “Doonesbury” and “Fillmore” in the Classifieds, one on top of the other and to look at one was thus to look at the other. The latter strip (which directly attacked anonymous “liberals” far, far more often than “Doonesbury” directly attacked anonymous “conservatives” and IIRC rarely said a harsh word about Reagan or Bush (y’know, the Republican were in power ), even during their administrations) often said things that I considered offensive. I got over it. Each and every time.I wrote a letter of polite disapproval ONCE and IIRC that was because “Fillmore” depicted Trudeau’s wife Jane Pauley saying bad things about Trudeau which, frankly, I felt kind of crossed a line of some sort. If Trudeau has ever printed one harsh word about Tinsley, it snuck past me.

Just remember, folks, it’s all going to come down to the sixth upcoming Sunday Strip, November 10, the first post-Election Day Sunday strip of 2024. Either it’ll be Trump’s last appearance for at least the near future (I mean, c’mon, some other , more “relevant” person is bound to do something of Sunday-strip-worthy stupidity before too very long)…or he’ll be there every Sunday until he has Trudeau hauled from his home and summarily executed on false charges, right there on Trudeau’s front lawn. Because we know Trump wants to do that. I’d imagine that a handful of correspondents would like to see that, too.

(My initial proviso was going to be that Trump would be in the Sunday strip until World War III (which I don’t for a second doubt is on Trump’s to-do list [I foresee a real "Martin Sheen in “The Dead Zone”" moment: “The missiles are flying. Hallelujah. Hallelujah…”]) shuts down society as we know it but then I realized that Trump would never allow Trudeau to live that long. And who cares what I think, anyway?)

On a separate note, is the stuff about his daughter, Epstein, and teen dressing rooms really relevant at this point? He wasn’t in office for any of that. It’s not as though he hasn’t chalked up an impressive list of additional scandals (the rapes , for instance) in the interim. IMHO that’s not entirely unlike whatever it is he thinks he’s accomplishing by saying whatever it is he’s saying about Harris’s former job at McDonald’s.

IMHO as the Forces of Good, we’re obliged to hold ourselves to at least a slightly higher standard than our enemies and how hard is it rise above the standards of TRUMP? It’s not as though there’s not plenty of stuff outside of his personal life to pin on him and hang him from (if that’s not too mixed a metaphor).There. I did it. I went, indeed, there. Yes. I dared to veer from the groupthink and I just might do it again if I feel like it. I’ve gotten in trouble for doing that before — because, ultimately, in internet forums, there are no friends, only people who haven’t turned on you YET — and I don’t doubt that I’m going to get in trouble for it now. So Be It.
