YES! Now Brad’s family fantasy begins! Their life with such a bunch of kids that they could form a baseball team. This more lively drawing style seems to correspond well with Brad’s personality and I enjoy it more. I hope there’s a chance to see Luann this week, even if only for a panel.

As we go to week 2 of Jay Fosgitt’s Luann: What if Jay Fosgitt revived the Peanuts comic strip with approval from the Charles Schulz estate?

I’m not sure what I’m seeing. The blond girl on top of Brad has her upper half facing up, but her bottom half is facing down. How could she twist into that position? Also, what is that metal rod behind Toni in the second panel?

Today’s strip has me thinking of TV sitcoms like “Malcolm in the Middle” or “The Middle”.

Brad seems happy with the three wild kids. And Toni is happy in Brad’s large family fantasy. But Toni’s fantasy is one perfect kid. They really need to talk about expectations before they have kids.

I think this week will be a nice change after Toni’s too perfect fantasy. I think Brad’s fantasy will be much closer to reality.

Oh great now we go the opposite direction in our fantasy world.

Fur babies are much easier than skin puppies.

Now that’s a nightmare! But; Shannon may not the most well behaved 6 year old there is, but she’s not quite as bad as Brad, and, Toni’s nightmare.

Love or hate this sequence, it sure as drawn a lot of comments for this time in the morning.

I thought Jonah took Shannon home while Toni and Brad discussed whether or not they were willing to keep the kid for the entire month of August. Yet it looks like Shannon is still with them, just as out of control and destructive as ever, while Brad and Toni just stand by calmly watching her destroy their home.

By the end of August, the only thing left of their house will be the foundations.

Regarding all this talk about GnK being on vacation: Karen is the president of the National Cartoonists Society. If they took a break when these strips were written, it wasn’t for rest. The Annual Reuben Awards banquet is in San Diego, their city, in late August. Hundreds of cartoonists are coming for these few days to take over a hotel, attend various presentations and other functions. It’s a huge undertaking for her, the NCS board, and all the volunteers.

Sorry, opting out for the duration. No more kids.
