Hopefully we see the girls visiting Mrs Horner at the hospital next Monday.

That thunk isn’t good. It reminds me of the eighth grade teacher at the elementary school I attended. He had a heart attack in the classroom and remained unconscious until his death six years later.

There are worse deaths than dying while doing something you love. And especially dying suddenly after a long life.

No, not Mrs. Horner and George Cooper the same week. It was bad enough Thursday night, when the H.S. Principal and the assistant coach came to the front door to let Mary know what happened.

Now this is a foreboding strip! Just two days ago Luann and Tara were commenting on Mrs. Horner’s age. I’m looking forward to Monday’s strip.

Looks like Luann succeeded in writing “Greg 5-11” upside down.

Either Mrs. Horner’s instrument needs a tune up or something really bad just happened.

It looks like a watershed moment about to change Luann’a life!

Maybe the EMTs will revive her and it will inspire Luann to join the the fire department as an EMT.

I forgot that Luann was a fellow left hander.

I was afraid something might happen to Mrs. Horner. She’s a wonderful character, always positive, always ready to help and with a real passion for teaching and guiding young people having a happy future. Luann always loved her and saw her as a role model. I hope it’s not something serious, maybe she just dropped her ocarina, but there’s a chance this is something bad for her, that will shake Luann to her core, right now that she’s finally happy and full of hope.

They better not jump to another arc on Monday!

Luann starts giving CPR and saves Mrs. Horner’s life. At that moment – Luann decides to become a NURSE. (maybe)

I’ve always wondered when G&K would kill off a long established character.

I always thought that when that day came, it might be Mrs Horner (though I would hope it WOULD be Irma).

But Who’s to say what went “Thunk?”

And if it IS Mrs Horner, who’s to say she’s not faking it for a “reaction?”

Oh by the way.

Mrs Horner NEVER had a “bio” in the characters section.

She is dying, it was a great moment for her to die. Making music she loved teaching a class she loved, etc.

This is a comic strip, so chances are she’s not dead And will be going to the hospital And maybe not teaching. They did highlight her age at the beginning of this arc… Who knows

Ok, yesterday I was fully expecting the next storyline to be something wacky that Luann was dreaming, and wasn’t really looking forward to it. Today, I’m sort of hoping this is what is happening… or that she dropped the ocarina.

Maybe Luann will save her and see her destiny in the medical field…

Fortunately, LuAnn has a brother and sister in law who have taught her how to use an external defibrillation device, and to perform CPR.

Wee, if her death results in the end of this “new brand” arc, it served some purpose.

I hope this isn’t what a lot of folks are thinking…..!!!!!!!

Not for nothing, but how many college students would be using block lettering when they’d most likely be using cursive lettering? I know, I know, if they showed it that way, we might not be able to make out what it said…

Oh wait, misdirection Friday? Particularly one for such an important and beloved character, Mrs. Horner. I hope not, but as an elderly man myself, the life she lives(d) is truly written/drawn to be inspirational and as a life mentor for these young adults.

Stay tuned next week, when Luann discovers her hidden potential to study medicine and become a doctor. Or at least a nurse.

Either works, as long as she saves Mrs. Horner!

If these were actually to be Mrs. Horner’s last words they would be memorable and immortal ones.

I had a teacher die when I was in college. He was a pipe smoker and very mellow. Another teacher came and finished the class that term
