And congratulations are in order for those “folks” that predicted what will arguably be one of the most predictable plot twists in history.
But what if Ann is really pregnant? These two are going to end up looking like twits. And if the pregnancy is indeed fake, what if Tom forgives Ann no matter what? Tiffany loses again.
But consider. Tiffany has been concerned with her Dad’s happiness. What if Tiffany, even armed with this “evidence,” does nothing. And just let things play out as long as her father is happy? It’s a longshot but it could happen.
Anyway, “IF” the duo head to the Farrell homestead, We’ll finally find out once and for all whether Ann has told Tom about Les yet. Can’t wait.
As I said on ArcaMax, BINGI, WINGO, the Eiffel witch is about to get her derrière smoked, or melted if you will. That ought to be interesting, but I still think the arc has a lot of levels yet. What happens to Les, and Tiffany? Their parents are different versions of horrible, they are tied together, will they both have to “grow up” real quick? And Ann and Tom? Her grift is screwed, and tom is what? He has a daughter who needs/needed him and who does he fall for?
After this bombshell has just gone off, I’m guessing next week will be a full six days of Luann and Bernice lying on or sitting next to Luann’s bed while they reminisce and wonder about what their friends are up to these days.
OK, I might be wrong, but I fully expect whatever the next ten minutes of plot development might be will be stretched out over the six days between the next Monday and Saturday.
Les? I saved my sons’ ultrasound pictures too. They are precious to a mother. They were the very first pictures of our children and they are what our children looked like inside us waiting to be born. Perhaps one day you will understand when you have your own.
Anyway, yep. Looks like based on Tiff’s round eyes – contrary to her usual half-lidded versions – it is exactly the same copy she found at the McMansion. The thing is will Les let her take it? That would be a mistake. Tom will still question the origin of the ultrasound. Best bring Les over with that box and let him find the ultrasound. He has to find it himself and recognize it as the same one Ann handed to him.
Her dad will only believe…“Gee, what an amazing coincidence. You have a picture just like ours.”. Then they’ll go ahead and get hitched anyways. She’ll then fake a so called mysterious loss of the baby to cover things up. He’s so locked into her, what else would he believe?
Goofy thought: does Bernice even have a house? Or parents, or any sort of guardian?
Why do we never see Bernice on a Sunday afternoon, reclining on top of her own bed, in her own bedroom AT HER OWN HOME while reminiscing and philosophizing with Luann while Luann sits on the floor and leans back against the bed Bernice has slept in for the past ten years?
Who are Bernice’s parents? Do they have names? When were they last seen in the strip?
Depending on how old Les is now and how old Ann Awful was when he was conceived, Ann might be too old to successfully become pregnant. I have been wondering about this.
How this will likely break: Les and Tiff confront Ann but without Tom present. Eiffel goes ballistic, runs off and then calls Tom with some outrageous BS about Tiff and says she needs time alone. She returns later and claims that the stress Tiff created caused a miscarriage. This happens after she burns the ultrasound she coveniently got back from Tom……. Eiffel is not going to give up all that coin and the lifestyle of luxury easily…..
So we have two threads going here: (1) Seems like Tiff is about to discover something she didn’t suspect – although the rest of us did; (2) Seems like Ann did care about her kid (Les) at the get go – maybe we’ll find out how she went downhill as a mommy…
The best we can hope for is that this plot line will immediately die a quiet death and then disappear into the darkest oblivion it so richly deserves.
Anything that does not involve Ann, in any way, much less her tormenting Tiffany, will be a welcome relief. That means no other characters discussing Ann, or plotting against Ann, or wondering if Ann is good for Tom or in anyway acknowledging that Ann exists.
Enough of Ann! She is the single most toxic character to ever plague this strip. It is incomprehensible to me why G & K have decided to insult their readership by continuously pushing this toxic tart in their faces.
What next, are G &K going to commission Gwyneth Paltrow to come up with an Ann Eiffel series of “scented candles” to sell on the side?
Well, we are at the place that we expected to me… sonogram in Les’ baby Box that is gonna be a 100% match to the one Ann taped behind the pic.
I am slightly disappointed about how this played through though. The setup was great… Tiff talks to Les about the person they both loathe. She complains about being Ann’s bodyservant, while Les softens up when he muses about a baby bro, and hopes the kid won’t be abandoned like he was. He mentions that he has a baby box that Ann saved.
I was really HOPING that Tiff had a lightbulb going on, and was beginning to add 1 + 1. Baby box? Maybe… ultrasound? Let’s see!
But no, in today’s strip, Tiff is inexplicably interested in looking at Les’ actual baby mementos. She had no plan in mind. That’s weird… how she can quickly be redirected from “Ann bosses me around like a servant” to “Ooooh, can I see your pacifier?”
Hopefully, this will end the whole “Ann fakes a miscarriage” possibility. I doubt they would be able to write about that properly. Also it would have been in very poor taste. Like, “Let’s get married on 9/11” poor taste.

I don’t believe the timing is right for Anne to have a printed pic of Les in utero. It would have likely had to have been from a film not digital camera and unlikely to have been taken. While ultrasounds date to the 50s, it was uncommon until recently to send the pictures home with mom.

I haven’t read all to comments yet, but has anyone else noted that collecting and keeping baby memorabilia is not at all compatible with Ann Eiffel! Tiffany even noted that Ann was “really into” (baby) Leslie!

Go to Anne Murray’s museum in Nova Scotia. Her parents kept everything. Wouldn’t be surprised if her first diaper was there. I’m 77 now and mom kept my baby dishes and teddy bear.

I really hope Tiffany and Les think this through and come up with a coherent plan. Don’t say anything to Ann. She will just come up with an excuse and run to Tom first. Tell Tom you want to meet him for lunch at the Fuse. Call him while he’s at work so he’s less tempted to bring Ann. Say you want advise on starting a business since that’ll most likely get him to come without Ann. Meet him with Les. Tell him who Les is and show him the sonogram. Explain what your suspicions are in a calm manner and perhaps all the things Ann had done to you. After that let him make his own choices.
Tiff is young and thus far has shown no real ability to create leverage for herself. Even when she has information that would aid her. Will this be different? My guess? No. Points to consider. Dad was excited to find out he may be a papa again. Dad enjoys his relation and has no problem letting Ann define his relationship to Tiff. The captain of the Titanic knew there were icebergs.
Many potential surprises and plot twists are possibly on the drawing board folks:
1) When confronted, Ann reveals the shocking incident in the past that turned her from the loving, memorabilia collecting mother she was into the hate filled person she is today.
2) Tom and Ann have eloped by the time they get back.
3) Tiff won’t confront Ann out of misplaced love for “daddy.”
4) When confronted, Ann will convince with Tom that she acted out of love for him and actually want’s his baby.
And none of this will matter, because, on Monday, we will hear Luann say to Bernice “I wonder if Tiff and Les are ‘doing it’?”
Before everyone gets all happy and starts planning a get lost party for Ann, remember…
Ann DID NOT use the sonogram to trick Tom into marrying her! He proposed while they were on vacation!
So if/when he finds out Ann is not really pregnant, (providing of course she isn’t really pregnant) I don’t think it will turn him against her. He wanted to marry her before he thought she might be having his child.
I’m thinking that the fireworks might start at the Fuse. Tiffany’s Dad insists on going there. Ann doesn’t want to tell him she has been banned. Nancy tells Ann off and (I don’t think she realizes the connection with Tiffany) . Tiffany’s Dad realizes the server that Ann was rude to was his daughter. Then Les jumps in with Hey heard you were pregnant and found my ultrasound. Tiffany’s Dad sees it realizes the deception and kicks Ann to the curb. Tiffany comes out smelling like roses.
How about Ann is very early stage, pregnant, and was planning to use that sonogram as the means to surprise Tom with the news? It makes no sense to the story for that sonogram to have been ‘hidden’ where it was.
Oooh. This is going to be rich! She re-purposed Les’s ultra sound to scam Tom! I want to be seated in the front row with popcorn when that confrontation happens…

After Tiff tells Les that it’s the same one, will he still be “hands off” the situation, citing “growing up”. Or disappointed that he’s not getting a sibling? Will he be disgusted at another of his mother’s cons? Or will “someone” interrupt them (cue Gunther?). Good grief, I hope they don’t change arcs now! ….the suspense! :-o

Tiffany’s expression is NOT only the waving hand flashback. But also – carry the luggage – lemonade – aspirin – cold cloth – close drapes – foot rub – “you will tell NO one about the baby”.
I knew it, looking at Tiffany’s expression in the last panel shows that Ann’s ultrasound is a fake. Using it to manipulate Tom to get what she wants from him…money
Wow, yikes. But how will this affect Tom and Ann’s relationship and will they get married before he is able to realize what she is all about? We have seen Tom’s face, his affection for Tiffany and excitement over the possibility of another child (which Ann does not share). And he is happy (…ignorance is bliss…). Will he return to some form of previous melancholy once he learns more about Ann? And how will Ann respond once she is officially cornered? It could take the rest of the summer for G&K to get through all of this.
That doesn’t make sense. If Ann was planning to use a faked pregnancy to get Tom to propose, she no longer needed that ruse, as she got the proposal. So why wouldn’t she just admit that the ultrasound was of Les, and use her faked up sob story about how her son doesn’t love her to get further sympathy from Tom?
They need to make a copy of the ultrasound. They can’t risk Ann getting her claws onto Les’ actual copy. Then they need to figure out how to get a moment alone with Tom. It’s not like he’s been making any real time for her.
Worst case scenario (and most likely!)… Tiffany will have to blackmail Ann to end her nasty ways. Even if Tom won’t listen, she can still tell everyone else.
Aha! I knew it. Ann is a con artist, after all, and this is just another scam. After a couple of months, she would just tragically “miscarry” but by then the fish has been hooked. I really can’t see her going through an actual pregnancy again.

I’m surprised that Ann Eiffel would at some point actually care enough to have saved Les’ baby stuff in a box. I didn’t think that she would have been the type of person to do that, since she’s so evil and all that. But perhaps she might have been a decent person at some time in her past. However, I am not at all surprised that she’d photocopy his old ultrasound pic and pass it off as proof that she’s pregnant. She seems like the type to do something that low just to better her lot in life. Pretty despicable, and it leads me to ask what happened to her in her past that made her this way…
I have to say, I like the depiction of Tiffany’s growth here. First she is fascinated and emotional about the fact the Les’ mother apparently had feelings for him. Then she notices the signal that something may be off, and pops her eyes open and lifts her eyebrows.
Tiffany should bring Les along to verify the story when she (hopefully) confronts Ann and her father together about this.Tiff’s dad: “Who’s this guy?”Tiff: “Your prospective son-in-law.”

I don’t believe the timing is right for Anne to have a printed pic of Les in utero. It would have likely had to have been from a film not digital camera and unlikely to have been taken. While ultrasounds date to the 50s, it was uncommon until recently to send the pictures home with mom.

Appropriate for July 4th. Maybe this will be the start of Tiffany’s Independence Day!! At least I can hope. On the other hand, G&K might use this as a ploy to turn things around and keep the war and the battle between Tiffany and Ann going. There is enough negativity and hatred in the world already. Enough is enough! Let Tiffany have one small victory in writing, and then a larger personal one by gaining her freedom and independence from Tom and Ann.

oooh. I have a theory. It’s why Tiff is so surprised right now. Ann’s pregnancy is 100 percent FAKE. When Tiff’s dad saw Ann’s “baby‘s” ultrasound, He said the baby was waving. I think that just to get Tom to marry her, she stole a copy of Les’s ultrasound, and made it seem like it was hers. If you don’t agree, don’t hate, this is just a theory that I think makes total sense.

Go to Anne Murray’s museum in Nova Scotia. Her parents kept everything. Wouldn’t be surprised if her first diaper was there. I’m 77 now and mom kept my baby dishes and teddy bear.

I really hope Tiffany and Les think this through and come up with a coherent plan. Don’t say anything to Ann. She will just come up with an excuse and run to Tom first. Tell Tom you want to meet him for lunch at the Fuse. Call him while he’s at work so he’s less tempted to bring Ann. Say you want advise on starting a business since that’ll most likely get him to come without Ann. Meet him with Les. Tell him who Les is and show him the sonogram. Explain what your suspicions are in a calm manner and perhaps all the things Ann had done to you. After that let him make his own choices.

Tiff is young and thus far has shown no real ability to create leverage for herself. Even when she has information that would aid her. Will this be different? My guess? No. Points to consider. Many potential surprises and plot twists are possibly on the drawing board folks:
1) When confronted, Ann reveals the shocking incident in the past that turned her from the loving, memorabilia collecting mother she was into the hate filled person she is today.
2) Tom and Ann have eloped by the time they get back.
3) Tiff won’t confront Ann out of misplaced love for “daddy.”
4) When confronted, Ann will convince with Tom that she acted out of love for him and actually want’s his baby.
And none of this will matter, because, on Monday, we will hear Luann say to Bernice “I wonder if Tiff and Les are ‘doing it’?”

I’m thinking that the fireworks might start at the Fuse. Tiffany’s Dad insists on going there. Ann doesn’t want to tell him she has been banned. Nancy tells Ann off and (I don’t think she realizes the connection with Tiffany) . Tiffany’s Dad realizes the server that Ann was rude to was his daughter. Then Les jumps in with Hey heard you were pregnant and found my ultrasound. Tiffany’s Dad sees it realizes the deception and kicks Ann to the curb. Tiffany comes out smelling like roses.

Wow, just signed on and already over 400 comments. Many of us were seeing this coming, but with GnK you never know. Too much of a coincidence not to be the same sonogram that Ann had/used. After Tiff tells Les that it’s the same one, will he still be “hands off” the situation, citing “growing up”. Or disappointed that he’s not getting a sibling? Will he be disgusted at another of his mother’s cons? Or will “someone” interrupt them (cue Gunther?). Good grief, I hope they don’t change arcs now! ….the suspense! :-o

Wow, yikes. But how will this affect Tom and Ann’s relationship and will they get married before he is able to realize what she is all about? We have seen Tom’s face, his affection for Tiffany and excitement over the possibility of another child (which Ann does not share). And he is happy (…ignorance is bliss…). Will he return to some form of previous melancholy once he learns more about Ann? And how will Ann respond once she is officially cornered? It could take the rest of the summer for G&K to get through all of this.

They need to make a copy of the ultrasound. They can’t risk Ann getting her claws onto Les’ actual copy. Then they need to figure out how to get a moment alone with Tom. It’s not like he’s been making any real time for her.
Worst case scenario (and most likely!)… Tiffany will have to blackmail Ann to end her nasty ways. Even if Tom won’t listen, she can still tell everyone else.

I’m surprised that Ann Eiffel would at some point actually care enough to have saved Les’ baby stuff in a box. I didn’t think that she would have been the type of person to do that, since she’s so evil and all that. But perhaps she might have been a decent person at some time in her past. However, I am not at all surprised that she’d photocopy his old ultrasound pic and pass it off as proof that she’s pregnant. She seems like the type to do something that low just to better her lot in life. Pretty despicable, and it leads me to ask what happened to her in her past that made her this way…
