A climax on Tuesday seems odd. What are they (G&K) going to do for the rest of the week? I’m pretty sure what G&B are going to be doing for the est of the week.

I love how Luann’s scared for her life in panel 1, she thinks Bets is coming in there to knock her out.

I still say Gunther and Bets have shown more incompatibility than anything lately and I’m not crazy about the way they’re brushing aside all the accumulated red flags for a fast reconciliation. I can’t get over how stilted and robotic sounding the apology in panel 2 sounds.

Anticlimactic. What’s left for the rest of the week? Mutual apologies all around?

I am glad to see the drama end this way although I know many disagree. I hope Betts and Gun go on to finish college and go on with their lives together.

Well, Bets, five minutes ago you were in your van texting and filming how you were gonna surprise your fans with a reunion with Gunther and fantasizing about filming your reunion with Gunther. Now you’re saying you realized you had it better with Gunther than your fans and are telling him now that you should’ve told him long time ago…you realized that five minutes ago when you read those nasty texts from your fans. Who believes Bets is going to quit social media and resume a regular and mundane relationship with Gunther? Not me. She might try to stay away for a little while but she will eventually go back to social media. Plus school already started so she still has the semester off. What will she do for money? Not many jobs pay better than social media which is basically little work and a lot of fun and creativity.

Steff needs to stay out of it!

At least Bets did leave her phone in the van, unlike her earlier fantasy of streaming her embrace with Gunther.

“New and Improved Bets?” I ain’t buying it. Bets could have told Gunther all that stuff and MEANT it back during the “pagoda of peace” incident a couple of years ago.

In fact, she did kinda, back on 07/09/21, only to have her whip that darn phone out.

Odds are, Bets will whip that darn phone out again before the week is out. Perhaps as early as tomorrow.

Unless, Gunther has finally decided he’s had enough of Bets and leaves, since he NOW knows where the front door to the manse IS.

OR, Gunny meets some friendly gal while working as a T.A. who’ll finally give Bets some well deserved, long overdue competion.

Anyway, all that’s left this arc, is Stef getting her lights punched out. ;-)

Awwwwww… How nice! A big and sincere hug between Gunther and Bets without the livestream. Just them and their real friends. I was hoping for this! Now Gunther will no longer have doubts that she left him. Everyone is happy, except Stef, who probably hoped to film a fight between Bets, Luann and Gunther in livestream. But Bets never thought for a moment that the two had gotten together. Now I wonder if Bets will tell Stef what she thinks of her or be superior and ignore her.

Not the reaction I expected, but it’s the results I wanted. <3 Of course their REAL friends are happy about it, but her fans? Yeah, they don’t matter anymore. She’s gonna lose a LOT of subs for this, but maybe it’s time for her to end her influencer career and move on to something else.

Will Stef now delete the picture?

For once, Luann gets it right! She vehemently denies being Gunner’s mate and then backs off and keeps he mouth shut!

Bets ’fesses her love for Gunther and they embrace, making up publicly! Only Stef trolls on.

These characters are their early 20s. For crying out loud, don’t you remember what you were at that age? Had all the answers, don’t anyone could see it any other way.

With luck, they’ll be a little more mature, a little better person. Going through major chances, like what Bets did today, could put her on the road to being an adult.

I said it yesterday, but I’ll rephrase it here. We have been on this storyline for three weeks and Thanksgiving is next week. Hopefully this has finally resolved itself and we can move onto something else.

Now, Stef gets her comeuppance.

I have to wonder if this arc is intended as a statement about many of the regular commenters on this strip.

You need to get the hell out of there now, Gunther. Say thanks, but no thanks. Nah, kneel down and propose. Get her tacos and spaghetti and a diamond ring and some ice cream. Take her to a Taylor Swift concert… no, wait, those are about exs. Take her home and dance to the music in her head. I’ll bet she has great music in her head.

Well that wasn’t any fun. No big fight after all that buildup.

And if this is what’s happening on Tuesday, then I’d love to see what happens on Saturday!

It’s great to see that Bets finally sees what is really important.

Actually Stef is the one who caused this loving reunion with her nasty actions. Her post of Gunther and Luann shocked Bets into realizing where her heart really is. It also showed her how her “fans” will turn on a dime.

This just feels…meh. I’m looking at Bets’ declaration and just thinking “yeah, talk is cheap. I don’t really buy it.”

That is a really well drawn hug! Maybe better without the board, but very nice! Bets has realized a great truth – if you have fans you have to keep them entertained. She needed Gunther back in her life – both private and public. Excellent that Steff got the reunion posted (as planned). That will be worth a lot of fans, although it sounds like some of them thought Bets could do better than Gunther and vice-versa. Just can’t please all of the people all of the time I guess!

Okay, time to clock Stef and shove that cell phone where the sun don’t since or throw it waaaayyyy out into the street. Even Dez and all her tolerance and forgiving should have this totally cross the line.

If she’s serious about prioritizing real relationships over her fans, then maybe this can work. But, this is already her third chance on that, so, you’ll have to forgive me if I sound a bit pessimistic.

I like Bets. In other strips she was a high GPA earning business student and she helped Tiff salvage her GPA. It was a little out of character for her to do comic/sci-fi conventions. Also, she ignored this last semester of school. But it’s nice to see her back.

IMO: This is actually an accurate depiction of someone with early trauma and trust issues. They’ll keep running from good things because they cannot accept someone simply loves them, and are expecting to be burned again so they, try to get ahead of it. Gunth being patient is the way to help them both.

If this is the end of the arc, it seems lazy and contrived. But the good thing about the Luann strip is that there are lots of interesting characters with stories that need developed.

Stefi looks disappointed. I’m surprised she’s streaming the reunion.

Stef is not a happy camper…..ever!

I predicted this a week ago (patting myself on the back). I’m so glad she came back. She brings something fresh and different to the strip and gets a lot of Luann fans hot under the collar. It will be interesting to see if Greg and Karen use the rest of the week to wrap up some details, like if and when Bets goes back to school, where she’ll live, etc., or will they start a new arc mid-week?

Just like I said. No fighting, Bets is only mad at herself and she tells Gunther how much he means to her. I have no idea where the story goes from here.

Get a prenup, Bets. You both need to have an honest discussion about where your going to live, life goals for finances, kids, home ownership etc. With measurable benchmarks.

Stef is posting the reunion with the same intent she posted the photo of Gunther and Luann. Without much thought, just vapidly using social media the way many young people use it. Stef does not seem unhappy at all with this outcome. I don’t think she had any evil intentions before.

I like how what happened prior to Gunther coming home angry wasn’t reiterated when very clearly something happened and was never resolved so we were left confounded as to what happened and whether or not they actually broke up. Okay ,well —

I’m not at all surprised because I’ve felt GnK is writing Bets and Gunther to be together and eventually be the second marriage in the strip. I hope so anyway. On this being the end, how wrong can those posters be? Don’t you read the strip, and pay attention to it? This is Tuesday in the arc week, this important arc has at least the rest of the week to go. The issue with Steph is one for example, Since hilarity will or might ensue I think Bets will thank Steph for shocking her into enlightenment, but I expect some more shannigans for the rest of the week. I’m happy these events SEEM to be going the way I hoped, so far.

I have no idea what will happen the rest of the week. I think Bets will continue with her blog and continue to live in her van. She can’t move in with Gunther or into the dorm in the middle of the semester. I think everything will continue the way it was before they went on their road trip. Stef will still be annoying and Kip will not break up with her.

I hope the rest of the characters open their eyes and see the type of jerk Stef really is!

Leaving the arc for Thanksgiving means we won’t see Bernice in a costume…My bet would’ve been on Cruella DeVil or Maleficient. A Sigmund Fraud doll?

What a tangled web we weave when we practice to deceive.

Everyone who points the finger saying “AHA!” has at one time or other lied or tried to manipulate some outcome or other. Some of us recoil for one reason or other from this practice but we’re all guilty of a deceit of some kind. If a two year old lies saying she didn’t do ‘it’ with the evidence she did in her hand, that doesn’t make her a liar. Many people are ‘interrupted’ unable to mature past this stage because of trauma. These people need gentle guidance and therapy to grow past the trauma that caused them to remain an emotional infant. Judgement will only cause them to defend their actions more.

Nice, but it’s only Tuesday, so…..what happens next? There are many loose ends: her trip, the van, who’s living space, Stef’s photo, classes, his TA post, Thanksgiving? It makes one’s head spin! ;-D

Bets is smart and confident, and it’s time for her to reinvent herself as one of those “I’m so over the phone obsession” young people who are rediscovering the pleasures of face-to-face moments, meaningful goods, and creativity freed from the all-seeing Internet. I know a few young people who are heading in that direction. She’s discovered the thing she thought she was using was in fact using her. Kudos! Many people never learn that at all.

Well Stef, if your plan was to create problems between Bet’s and Gunter you failed miserably.

At this point I’d pay money for a novella where Stef gets the crap kicked out of her for her role in this. And I’d pay double for the Deluxe Edition where Bernice gets thrown out on her ear after Nancy gets wise to the literal years of emotional abuse Bernice has been subjecting Luann to.

Yay! Love to see them together, I wonder what is planned for them now that they are back together? Time will tell!!

So the little book is about how they pressed the pause button on their relationship. Fascinating!

I haven’t read all of the comments, but I know some are wondering what’s next. This is exactly how I wanted to see things work out for Gunther and Bets. The fact that I’m not all that good at predicting, combined with the fact that it’s only Tuesday, has me a little worried. Is this really it? Is any of it staged? Is it a dream sequence like Gunther’s homecoming? What could go wrong? Nothing, I hope.

Good reason to not be on “social” media at all. It all blows, except , of course, for Go Comics…..

Does this mean Bets will come back to college? Because Stef needs to be punished somehow. So far, losing her “room to herself” privilege may be the only way to do it.

a couple weeks ago I received a LuannFan comment (by G&K) where they were talking about situations where someone was dating a person that was wrong for them, the implication was that Bets could be wrong for Gun. Then they posed questions e.g. should Gun date Luann or should he stay with Bets etc? Not sure why they did that since these arcs were probably already planned and it looks like Bets has made a turn around. But it is mid-week and more will happen before sat.
